How to Play

It’s free to participate in the Beer Trail. Here’s how to get started:

  • Download the Brew Barons Beer Trail app.
  • Create a profile with your email and zip code and verify that you are 21 years or older.

    

Now that you’ve downloaded the Brew Barons app, it's time to start visiting brewery locations! 

  • Tap on the Brew Barons landing screen to see a list of Tours Stops. 
  • Scroll to your location and tap the listing. 
  • Click “Check In.” The app uses GPS to validate your location.
  • The app will automatically keep track of your check-ins.     

Prizes - The more craft beer locations you visit, the more prizes you can earn!

FAQs

How long does the Beer Trail last?

There’s no cutoff date to earn prizes, so you can visit the craft beer locations at your leisure and earn prizes at your own pace.

What if my phone doesn’t detect my location?

No problem!  On the check-in screen we offer a photo check-in as an alternate method. Take a picture (beer taps, receipt, etc.) that clearly shows you were there and we'll add it to your passport after a quick review.  If you experience any further troubles, send check-in proof to brewbarons@hersheyharrisburg.org using the email you use to log into the app. Photo-verified check ins can take up to 48 hours to apply to your passport.  

Is there a paper passport? No. The Brew Barons Beer Trail is all-digital using the app. Go green!

Can I play more than once?

The Brew Barons Beer Trail app only allows you to earn prizes for one passport per person. We think you’ll like these breweries so much, you’ll come back again!

How can I check my progress?

On the Beer Trail section of the app you can see your total number of check ins and how many you need to earn your next prize. Visited locations will have a checkmark.

Can I pick up prizes in person?

Not at this time. When you’ve checked in at enough locations to earn a prize, we’ll let you know. Just provide your mailing info, and we’ll ship your prize!

Is there transportation available?

Yes. There are multiple options for transportation in Hershey and Harrisburg.  Find out more. 

Can I bring a group?

Yes! The Brew Barons Beer Trail is a great way to celebrate with friends (Bachelor parties, girls’ weekends, etc.), and each person in the group who is 21 and over can participate on their own passport. To ensure the best experience, especially for groups of 20 or more, we recommend you contact the locations to confirm seating capacity.

Can I bring my children to participating locations?

Although most locations on our Beer Trail welcome visitors of all ages, it is always a good idea to check the location’s website or phone ahead before you arrive.

Will more breweries be added over time?

Yes! As new breweries open or join the Brew Barons Beer Trail, we’ll add them to the app.

Are the locations open every day? 
Most locations are open daily, but we encourage you to verify hours of operation prior to planning your visit.

 

Official Rules

Must be 21 years and older to participate. No purchase necessary. One person per passport. You must be on-site to check in at each location. Participants qualify for one prize only at each prize level. Rules subject to change. Valid while supplies last. Apple is not a sponsor to the app or the passport prize giveaways.
