How many passports are on the Trails & Experiences app?
The number of passports may change as experiences become available.
How will I know when a new passport has been added?
Participants may receive push notifications through the app. If you've opted in to emails, you'll receive occasional updates in your inbox.
How do I check in?
Passports use geolocation and do not require a purchase for check-ins. Scroll to your location and hit the “Check-in” button. The app will recognize your location and accept the check-in.
What if my phone doesn’t detect my location?
No problem! If your device is not getting good reception, clicking “Check in” will save your GPS location and upload the next time you open the app when connected to the internet. If you receive errors or your phone’s GPS is not registering, send a photo as proof of check-in to trails@hersheyharrisburg.org using the email you use to log into the app. Photo-verified check-ins can take up to 48 hours to apply to your passport.
Can I check in more than once?
Participants can check in at one location per passport season. Some passports may have multiple seasons within a calendar year. The check-in requirements can be found within the “details” section of each passport.
How do I redeem prizes?
Each check-in is worth points that are automatically tracked in the app. Once you’ve reached the points needed for your preferred prize, follow the prompts in the Prize Market. *Prize options may change periodically pending new arrivals and availability.
Can I redeem more than one prize at a time?
Yes. If you have enough points for more than one prize, make your selections and follow the prompts.
Can I redeem more than once?

I have points from several passports. How are they counted?
Points from all passports are combined and accumulate for one total to be applied in the Prize Market. This allows participants to engage with a variety of experiences to build points.
Can I pick up prizes in person?
Not at this time. All prizes are shipped to the address you provide when you select your prize from the Prize Market.
When are the locations open?
Operating hours vary. We encourage guests to verify operating hours through each location’s website prior to your visit. For outdoor locations, please follow proper safety precautions.
What are the badges on the passport photo?
Participants earn digital badges when they reach a certain number of check-ins on a passport. They are fun way to show progress. Badges and points are not related for prize purposes.
What is the “My Plan” function?
Each location listed within a passport has a plus (+) button. Tapping the plus (+) adds the location to an itinerary that you can reference in the “My Plan” tab at any time. (Participants must be logged in for itineraries to be saved.)
